UNESCO Dolomites World Heritage Site
Fantastic Dolomite hikes and adventurous mountain tours can be tackled from here. Vertical walls and jagged peaks with delicate mountain pastures and flower-filled alpine meadows cover an area of more than 10,000 hectares.
The basic characteristics of the sexes seem to unite in this landscape: the hard masculinity of the rapidly rising rock towers flows into the soft femininity of the green, flower-filled alpine meadows. Secluded valleys and mysterious coniferous forests complete the fairytale image of the nature park and underline the extraordinary diversity of the landscape.

Natural swimming pond Lüsen
The natural bathing pond in Lüsen is a small idyllic mountain lake, nestled in the mild and peaceful landscape of Lüsen, it fits in harmoniously with the many special features of Lüsen. Close to the village center and yet far away from the hustle and bustle, it invites you to take a well-deserved dip after a summer panoramic or nature park hike.
A visit to the natural bathing pond promises fun for everyone: the children can let off steam on the slide while you relax on the sunbathing lawn or swim a few lengths in the refreshing spring water.
Depending on the weather, the natural bathing pond is open from the beginning of June to the end of August, 10:00 to 18:30.
Lüsner Alm
Like a carpet of green in summer or covered in pure snow-white gold in winter, the gentle Lüsner Alm lies across the tranquil Dolomite valley. With its endless rolling pasture hills, the Lüsner Alm offers a fantastic 360-degree panoramic view of the glacier world of the main Alpine ridge and the bizarre realm of the Dolomites.
The Lüsner Alm is considered the longest alpine pasture in South Tyrol and is a paradisiacal hiking and snowshoeing oasis. In rustic mountain huts, hungry hikers, pleasantly exhausted, are rewarded with food and drink from traditional South Tyrolean cuisine, while opposite, within easy reach, the mighty Dolomite towers of the Peitlerkofel and Puez Geisler rise into the sky.
Cross-country skiers can also enjoy 50 kilometers of trails in the winter wonderland of the Lüsner Alm, as they glide past feeding troughs in the silence of the snow-covered meadows and forests on the groomed cross-country trails.

Skiing on the Plose
The 2,500m high Plose is the local mountain of the episcopal town of Brixen and can be reached from Lüsen in no time at all. On the Plose, the eye feasts on fantastic panoramic views of the Dolomites and the glacier world of the main Alpine ridge. Every day of skiing becomes a holiday with wonderful descents, plenty of sunshine and a stop at the ski huts.
The ski area is part of the Arena Dolomiti Superski, Europe's largest ski carousel. With just one ski pass, skiers have access to almost 500 lifts and over 1,200 kilometers of slopes. The lift ride on the Plose is an experience in itself: in just a few minutes you glide up to the Plose peak in the face of the Puez-Geisler Nature Park with the Peitlerkofel and Geisler towers. Skiing on the Plose, the local mountain of Brixen and Lüsen, is one of the most beautiful winter experiences in South Tyrol.
Children's ski lift in Lüsen
The "Rungg" ski slope not far from the village center of Lüsen is a true children's paradise - a highlight especially for our younger guests, but also for those returning to the sport.
The lovingly designed slope sections and the new children's snowland with two magic carpets and exciting obstacles ensure fun.
Qualified and pedagogically trained ski instructors from the Lüsen ski school are available. With the latest teaching methods and a combination of games and skiing, the little ones learn how it feels to stand and glide on two boards. So let's go and discover our winter paradise!
Tobogganing in Lüsen
Our toboggan runs are all natural and are also used as ascent routes. Depending on use and weather conditions, unexpected hazards may arise. Pay attention to your own safety and that of others. Adapt your speed and riding style to your own ability and visibility. The internationally recognized FIS rules of conduct also apply on toboggan runs. Good equipment, sturdy shoes, stable toboggans and a safety helmet for adults are strongly recommended.
Snowshoe and winter hiking in Lüsen
The Lüsner Alm and the alpine pastures at the foot of the Peitler Kofel are ideal for unforgettable winter hikes. Whether on foot or with snowshoes, the Dolomites are also a special experience in winter and sustainable winter and snowshoe hiking is very easy here.
Alone or with one of our guided hikes, you can reach the desired starting point quickly and easily with the hiking bus and leave your car at home.
The gentle, hilly landscape around Lüsen has several peaks that are easy to climb: the Astjoch, the Campill, the Glittner Joch, to name just a few.
